More funding to create new Mutuals: don’t miss out

Last Friday, Tracey Crouch – Minister for Sport and Civil Society – announced a further £1 million in funding to support organisations looking to either become or grow as Public Service Mutuals.

This is post is now out of date. The latest round of funding closes 21st June 2019.

This follows the success of the £1.7 million support programme launched in January 2018. UK Mutuals have a combined turnover of around £1.6 billion and growing, and research shows the sector is in good health.

Tracey Crouch said:

“We want to support the development, growth and sustainability of Mutuals. Our funding boost has already enabled dozens of organisations to flourish.

“This next round will strengthen our commitment and allow many institutions, staff, and their customers, to benefit from more independence, faster decision-making and less bureaucracy in the future.”

Along with our consortium partners (Mutual Ventures, Bates Wells Braithwaite and Bevan Brittan), Baxendale is playing a key role in supporting organisations through this process.

Between us, we have helped a considerable percentage of the 120+ Mutuals delivering public services in the UK today to find the right models for them, and have seen first-hand how the benefits of becoming a Mutual can transform public services.

This round of funding is open for applications until 5pm on Friday 29 June.
